Michael: Well, because he is just a good man.
Me: I think so too. What things would they do to be like dad?
Michael: They would just ride their bikes with their kids. Because that's just something everyone should do.
Me: That is a good thing. What else?
Michael: They would just feed younger people. That's a good thing, too.
Me: That's true, too. What else?
Michael: Just all the things that dad does are good.
Me: He is a good man, Michael.

At the Daddy-and-Me dinner his preschool hosted, Michael gave Paul a card with a present (a pet rock) that goes like this:
This is what I know about my dad:
"My dad's name is Paul. He is 30 years old. His hair is kinda like brownish. His eyes are goldish-greenish. He goes to work and helps people. His favorite food is Kung-pow [pao] chicken. He likes kind of all the colors. We have fun together when we read stories."

And yes, kung-pou chicken is Paul's favorite at PF Chang... I found a great copycat recipe for his bday one year and it has become a staple in our house ever since. mmmmmm.

speaking of heady stuff...do you remember that moment of clarity where you tossed your pinkerton album in the trash? certainly a moment to be remembered by your posterity.
amy and michael are too kind to me in this forum. i'm just glad she doesn't post all my faults in this forum...but come to think of it, that's why i love it when the hipsters comment.
