i've been excited all month for this one and it did not disappoint. jimmer went off for 43 points and jackson emery held their leading scorer d.j. gay (30+ ppg in his last two) to 0-7 from the field and 0-5 from behind the arc.
the place was louder than i've ever heard. the fans knew how big this game was and they were willing this team to win. it seemed every time jimmer crossed midcourt someone was yelling for him to shoot it.
michael, amy and i had a 'nice fun day'.
the night started with pizza and poster creation. we entered the marriott center at 6:30pm as the doors opened to the public for the 8:15pm tip.michael was loving the warmup period.
michael counted every shot jimmer took from the moment we came out, and while we were watching michael counted 209 points made..:)
and what a treat to have mom with us. she's always spicing things up with her presence...
the crowd rushed the court and michael could not be held back. it was fun to mingle with players etc and before you knew it we were on TV!
thank you cougars for a spectacular night. a meeting of two top 10 teams in provo was all it had been billed. we won't remember this night soon and i made a little video to commemorate..:)

It was a nice date with my boys. Loved it... Michael's enthusiasm is enough to make anyone a die hard fan.
I must be pregnant, because watching Michael get so excited about my alma mater totally made me tear up. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME????
The point is, he's such an awesome fan! I especially love that he kept track of all the points on a poster. Perfectly Michaelesque. GO COUGS!!!

i forgot to add that we saw grandpa at the marriott center with doug, joan and brian. he reminded me that they purchased their seats with doug and joan in 1971 when they marriott center was built. meaning they've had their seats for 40 years!!!
Awesome! That is one game I wish we could have gone to!
Michael from 4:35--on is great. I've re-watched it a few times now and it still cracks me up! That kid loves his cougars.

AJ: agreed! i'm so glad that whole series of plays was caught on video. the place was going crazy and it's such a great memory of cheering with a very excited michael. i can't help but laugh and smile through that whole section every time i watch it...
sure glad they escaped with a win against wyoming tonight. i get the sense their still trying to find their identity again after they've played such good team ball and then jimmer has dominated the national scene for a few games. it's like they're in a 'who are we' funk as a team. hope they can work it out soon...
and thank you so much for the transcript/card you sent michael. very creative, thoughtful and michael loved it.
