i haven't cried at the movies in a long time...use clearplay for sensitive ears...
the story follows Walt Kowalski, a recently widowed korean war veteran. this movie has powerful things to say about race sensitivity, religion, friendship, family, fathers, sons and the meaning of life.
intense, emotional and very good.

I haven't really been on the computer in ages.... good to see you guys are doing well. Love the HSM card. I laughed hard. We are right there with you. Jan couldn't wait to take the kids to see 3 in the theater. Love you all. The kids are getting cuter and cuter.... didn't think that was possible, but I think it is happening!!!!
peter and i agree. it was one of our favorite movies from last year--and one of the best i've seen in a long time. the language is a little hard to hear, but i think if you watched it with clearplay, you wouldn't understand anything being said because every comment he makes would be bleeped out!
i too cried. i was surprised at that.
i didn't watch with clearplay:) important since one of his best lines involves hallelujah
yes, probably one of the best films from last year. and i also feel it was one of the best films i saw in recent memory.
how about this list for 2008:
1-gran torino
2-milk
3-dark knight
4-kung fu panda
5-slumdog millionaire
6-high school musical 3
7-quantum of solace
8-speed racer
9-wall e
10-horton hears a who
with a nod to stevie and apology for leaving out 'frozen river' since i haven't seen it and every time i stand in front of it at blockbuster (or even after renting once) i haven't brought myself to see it...
petey: i was glad i cried. i needed it :)
cool - I'll have to catch this one on Netflix.
gran torino. milk. frost/nixon. top my list. i think those three were much, much better than slum dog. even though, i liked slum dog...
wall-e was also incredible. it's amazing how riveting it was in the beginning without any dialogue, etc.
frost/nixon was good huh? maybe i should give it a spin. looked dull in my cursory glance at the cover...
